The North Mississauga Soccer Club is pleased to announce that Spyros Stergiotis has accepted the full time position as North Mississauga Soccer Club Goalkeeper Coach.
Spyros played for NMSC at the youth level, representing the club as an Ontario Provincial Projects player. Spyros went on to attend Wilmington University (NCAA) on an athletic scholarship, where he majored in Business marketing and earned a Bachelors of Science Degree.
Spyros’ dedication and love for football combined with his unmatched work rate lead to signing a professional contract in the Greece Football League where he played for 5 seasons. Spyros was able to apply the lessons he learned at NMSC to Major Greek Cup competitions against big clubs in Greece such as AEK Athens, and Panathinaikos.
Finally from Spyros: “I chose North Mississauga Soccer Club because it is a very diverse and multicultural club. There are many young goalkeepers that have the ability to learn, develop, and train; they will help lead NMSC to club and individual success for many years to come. I believe in the system the NMSC technical team is implementing and the vision to develop young, aspiring athletes that will succeed on and off the field. My goal as a coach is to help promote and develop goalkeepers with proper positioning and playing techniques; to help develop and train the physical and tactical aspect while also focusing on the mentality of becoming a strong goalkeeper; and to help develop the next League1 Ontario keeper from our youth system and help promote the club on a national level.”
Spyros will assist competitive teams U13+ and all OPDL teams (effective April 1st). Please take a moment to stop by the pitch to introduce yourself to Spyros and to check out his amazing GK sessions!
GO PANTHERS!
