The North Mississauga Soccer Club is pleased to announce that Monika Cordero-Flores has accepted the vacant position of OPDL Head Coach for the GU15 team, effective May 1, 2019.
Monika possesses a strong background in coaching with numerous soccer programs and communities throughout the province. She is dedicated to establishing the right environment to foster development and is an inspiring role model for players.
Monika comes to North Mississauga Soccer Club from Newmarket Soccer Club where she served as coach of a highly successful U16 girls team, and the Genesis Football Academy where she served as the Grassroots Football Director implementing Long Term Player Development strategies for both the boys and girls high performance teams.
Monika is highly educated with numerous coaching licenses that include a UEFA B and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University Of Guelph. Her expertise in this field will be a great asset helping our players build the mental fortitude needed to play in the Ontario Player Development League. Her well-developed communication skills and problem-solving ability will be an assist that all our staff members will look to learn from.
Finally, from Monika: “My coaching philosophy is about building a positive, supportive, yet competitive environment in which we ask for the best of each player on and off the field. I see great things on the horizon here at NMSC in that they are investing in the future of their programs with positive female role models on the technical side of the game.”
