Program For Players With Physical and Intellectual Disabilities
Our Panther Stars program provides an opportunity for players ages 5-30 with intellectual and physical disabilities to enjoy the game of soccer. We want to celebrate everyone’s participation with NMSC!
Participants must be physically capable of participating without any serious medical condition that would put them at risk.
Volunteer Coaches will help operate the program. We do not expect parents to act as coaches. The training sessions normally consist of warm up exercises and ball control/skill activities.
A parent or guardian must remain at the field during each session. This will help make the players feel comfortable and provide the coaching staff immediate support if an issue arises.
Our focus for the Panther Stars program is to develop the players at their own pace in a fun and healthy environment. We want to promote inclusion and help the players with skill development, team play, making friends, and being active through soccer for life.
The North Mississauga Soccer Club offers the Panther Stars Program during the indoor and outdoor seasons!

message from coach kevin
The Panther Stars program was created by former NMSC staff member, Ken Howe, because of his belief that all kids deserve an opportunity to play and have something “special” to call their own.
When it started, the program consisted of 4 coaches and 10-15 registered athletes in the outdoor program. Since then, the program has experienced substantial growth. With the addition of an indoor season, the program welcomes upwards of 40 athletes in the summer and 15 in the winter and has tripled the number of coaches. This success is a direct result of the efforts, care and dedication the coaches/volunteers put into it on a weekly basis and the continued commitment by the club in supporting the program.
As one of the only club provided programs in the GTHA for individuals with developmental and/or physical exceptionalities, Panther Stars is a distinctive program that fosters having fun, making friends, basic skill development and being active. Beyond that, it promotes a sense of belonging and social development.
As one of the coaches, the most impactful aspect is seeing the social development and the growth of the athletes. Having witnessed firsthand the personal growth of the program’s ‘regulars’ over the years; the strides they have made and the joy they get from coming out on Monday nights or Saturday mornings and knowing that this program has played a part in that growth is the highlight for me. The soccer skill improvement is just icing on the cake.
