This stage is an optimal window for the trainability of speed, flexibility, and skills. Skill demonstration is very important, and the players learn best by “doing.” Players move from being self-centered to self-critical, and they have a high activity level during basic skills training.

U11 & U12 – “Panthers” Program

This program is open to players born in 2010 and 2009.

The sessions will be led by volunteer coaches under the leadership of the Recreational Head Coach.

This is a skill development & small-sided- games-based program where players will learn new technical skills each week and play 9v9 games with a focus on individual development and having FUN.

This stage is an optimal window for the trainability of speed, flexibility, and skills. Skill demonstration is very important, and the players learn best by “doing.” Players move from being self-centered to self-critical, and they have a high activity level during basic skills training.

This is also an important time to teach basic principles of play and to establish a training ethic and discipline. Repetitions are important to develop technical excellence, but creating a fun and challenging environment is still essential for stimulating learning. Playing situations work best for teaching understanding and building basic game sense.
